In 2021 Nestlé began an initiative to digitize their ocean freight supply chain. A large element of this was a software solution to optimize global ocean freight operations. So far this project has reduced ocean freight forwarding expenses by 30%.
Nestlé is continuing their digital transformation journey with further steps in:
- optimizing their global ocean transportation processes
- digitizing manual processes across their ocean freight network
- improving end-to-end visibility
The project is still on going, savings will increase over time.
